Hi my friends; and bye, facebook~

最近做了個決定, 就是要跟facebook say goodbye.

ps. 這是我最近買的機械式打字機 =)

其實, 這也不是第一次, 但這次確實是吃了秤砣鐵了心
隱私不是我的主要考量, 反正我這人一向沒有什麼祕密
主要還是因為我發現它實在偷走了我太多的時間
再加上我會一直很在意大家給的回應(整個很無聊)

另外一個加速了這個決定的因素, 則是因為我發現...
從以前大家會寄手寫的信或卡片, 當email出現之後,
大家就漸漸轉為用email或電子賀卡來渡過些特別節日;
之後陸續又轉為msn、手機簡訊、到現在的facebook。
我不否認它們所帶來的方便性,
但是...當這些聯繫建立在強調迅速的資訊傳輸上時,
它讓我感覺像是.....吃到飽, 而時限只有三分鍾。

把facebook刪掉不代表要跟朋友斷絕往來,
我只是想回到用email, 用信來做更單純且直接的溝通
我已經盡可能的把大家的email給記下來了,
收信住址也在緩慢地收集中。

花多點的時間(雖然其實我覺得不一定會比用facebook還要花時間)
就像正統的法式料理, 投入的不光只有時間還有料理者的心思。

我想給妳/你捎個信, 給我收得到信的住址唄~

I've recently made a decision: close down my facebook account.

In fact, this is not the first time for me having this idea, but this time i did take action. Privacy is not what concerns me, cause i'm not that kind of person who keeps everything to himself. I simply think it steals too much of my time. besides, i couldn't stop myself from checking people's feedback to my posts. that bothers me, too...

another reason is that, i found people using fb more and more often. but to me i think it fails to bring people closer. you think as if you know about a friend, but you just get what he/she decides to disclose to you. (i'm not saying you need to dig out everything) but just knowing a friend's status quo by checking the person's status doesn't seem right to me. From handwriting letters/cards to email and e-cards, which is now replaced by msn or facebook, it's indeed a lot easier for people to get information, but it also makes it less worthy of cherishing... it's like being at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the food's quality ain't very good and the time you've got is very little.

the decision of closing my fb account won't stop me from getting in contact with all my friends. It's not my intention either. instead, i want to get more direct and more personal connections with them all. So before i deactivated my account, I've tried to write down all my friends' email and started to write mails to every single friend of mine. I'm also collecting people's physical address, hope to send my handwriting cards/letters sometime.

(although i doubt...) that might take me longer time, i believe I'd be satisfied with the outcome. For what i spend is not just my time, but also my mind.

So... send me your address, so that i can send you a card or a mail, will you?
