My dear friends,

Please go sign for saying NO to UN's abolishment of traditional chinese! (click the title to get linked to the website)

I know some(or probably most?!) of you might learn the simplifized chinese instead of the traditional one, but i believe you'd also agree with me that the traditional chinese characters are much beautiful than the simplifized ones. And i myself consider that only can the traditional chinese be the representative of chinese culture, 'cause every character has its own meaning and history. just take a look at all the great calligraphy works, which of the best ones were done in simplifized ones. sorry, probably, i'd gone too far. anyway, as a lover of traditional chinese, i really don't wish to see the abolishment being carried out in UN. i'm not sure if this can really do any help, but as least we can try.

這是個連署反對聯合國將於2008年廢除繁體中文的網址, 或許這不能改變即將成真的事實, 但是至少我們可以將自己的聲音表達出來。
我真的很愛繁體字, 在我看來它才是真正中國文化的代表,簡體字怎麼看都只是個符號, 感覺少了生命跟歷史, 所以我一點也不希望繁體字就這麼在世界的舞台上消失。或許你會覺得, 世界上還是有香港人跟2400萬個台灣人在用, 沒有那麼誇張。但這麼想好了, 至少如果聯合國的文件不再使用繁體字, 那就不需要原本那些負責將文件翻譯成繁體字的人了, 而也就會又少了些人去學或看到繁體字了, 不是這樣嗎?
